Before dawn had even broken I had four articles edited and my fourth (Thursday) assignment for the dialogue workshop completed and submitted. By the time I left for work, I was on fire! Tired – exhausted actually – but on fire.

It was midnight last night before things drew to a close, and I was up at 5am to continue the work. I couldn’t even see on the screen far less contemplate what I was meant to be doing by the end. My brain just wasn’t up to functioning any longer after such a long day. But hey – I’m still enjoying it and I’m learning so much from the conference as well as from the experience of balancing so much work at once. Having taken it all on – the conference, the freelance work, and an unusually bust time at the day job – I’m proving more to myself than is perhaps obvious to me just now.

Another good thing today was my monthly pay day lunch with Julz, Linda, and Nick. This month we went to Tex Mex 2 on Thistle Street. A massive Chimmy Chunga (?spelling) was ordered and went down a treat, followed by a delicious portion of their Iced Brownie Pie. I abstained from alcohol in the knowledge I had an online chat at midnight with my tutor and fellow writers from the dialogue workshop; not one I wanted to miss.

I was calculating my NaNo plan today. Based on my usual 2,000 words per day, and allowing for no writing on the 1st and 2nd of November (Spain) and the 14th (Glasgow to see Paul Weller), I expect complete the 50,000 requirement on the 28th. I’m planning on sticking to my 2k goal, but there are certain days I’ll be able to do way more than that, such as the days Gail is away photographing a wedding or something. Barring any disasters like I had last year (though I still managed to complete it successfully) I reckon I’m going to be ok.

Check this out: It’s the Colin Galbraith Trophy!!

Ok so today’s work was pretty heavy going. Between 5am and 1am Saturday morning, I edited the 3rd assignment for the dialogue workshop, wrote the one for days 4,5 and 6, completed the third draft of the 2nd and 3rd draft of the second batch of TLB articles, did some work on a website transfer, and attended Devon’s chat at the Muse Conference.

It’s 1am here and the chat has just finished. Can’t do any more as my brain is going to crash, so I’m off to bed.
