Sixteen year old Jackie McCann has run away from his adoptive family in London after finding a letter from his birth parents – whom he was told were dead.

With only the clothes on his back and a small amount of money, he leaves for Scotland determined to find his true identity. But Jackie soon finds his dreams of family life are not what he imagined, and gets caught up in a deadly way of life.

When he discovers his family are firmly rooted in one of the most violent and bloody periods of Glasgow history, finding his birth parents may not be the blessing Jackie might once have hoped.
